Therapy for meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, healing from painful experiences, struggling in your relationship, or simply recognizing that something in your life needs to change, therapy can provide a space to understand what's happening beneath the surface and begin moving forward.
At Inner Healing Counseling, I provide individual, couples, and trauma-focused therapy designed around your unique experiences, relationships, and goals.
Individual Therapy
Life can feel overwhelming even when you’re doing everything you can to hold it together. Anxiety, painful experiences, relationship difficulties, major transitions, or long-standing patterns can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward.
Individual therapy provides a space to slow down and better understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll explore the experiences, emotions, beliefs, and patterns that may be contributing to your distress while building greater insight, emotional flexibility, and confidence in navigating life differently.
Individual therapy may help with:
Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
Trauma and difficult past experiences
Relationship and attachment concerns
Life transitions and adjustment
Emotional overwhelm and stress
Self-esteem and identity concerns
Boundaries and interpersonal patterns
Feeling stuck or repeating patterns you want to change
Couples Therapy
Relationships can become strained even when both partners care deeply about one another. Repeated conflict, communication difficulties, emotional distance, breaches of trust, or unresolved hurts can create patterns that leave couples feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or unsure of how to find their way back to each other.
Couples therapy provides a space to slow those patterns down and better understand what is happening beneath the conflict. Together, we’ll work to identify the cycles shaping your relationship, strengthen communication and emotional safety, repair areas of hurt or disconnection, and build healthier ways of responding to one another.
Couples therapy may help with:
Communication difficulties and recurring conflict
Emotional disconnection
Rebuilding trust after relational injuries or betrayal
Attachment and relationship patterns
Intimacy and connection
Navigating major life transitions together
Boundaries and relationship expectations
Strengthening friendship, partnership, and emotional safety
Trauma Therapy and EMDR
Painful experiences can continue to affect us long after they have ended. Trauma may show up as anxiety, emotional reactivity, avoidance, difficulty trusting others, negative beliefs about yourself, or feeling as though your mind and body are still responding to something that happened in the past.
Trauma therapy provides a supportive space to understand these responses and begin processing experiences that continue to influence your life. When appropriate, I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma treatment that helps the brain process distressing memories and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them.
EMDR is not about erasing what happened or forcing you to relive every detail of an experience. Instead, we work at a pace that prioritizes safety and readiness while helping painful experiences become less emotionally overwhelming and less influential in the present.
Trauma therapy and EMDR may help with:
Distressing or traumatic experiences
Childhood and relational trauma
Betrayal and attachment injuries
Anxiety, triggers, and emotional reactivity
Negative beliefs about yourself
Difficult memories that continue to feel emotionally “stuck”
Avoidance or difficulty feeling safe
Patterns connected to past experiences
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the person—not when the person is expected to fit a particular model.
I take an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based and experiential methods based on your needs, goals, and experiences. Our work may involve understanding patterns and relationships, processing difficult experiences, developing practical skills, or creating opportunities to experience and respond to emotions differently.
Depending on your needs, I may incorporate approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Regardless of the approach we use, therapy remains collaborative. We'll continually consider what is helping, what isn't, and what feels most meaningful for the changes you're working toward.
