No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates
Your Right to Understand the Cost of Your Care
Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who do not have health insurance or who choose not to use their insurance to pay for services have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their care.
At Inner Healing Counseling LLC, I believe you should have clear information about the anticipated cost of therapy before receiving services. If you are uninsured or plan to pay for services without using insurance, you may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an appointment. When you schedule services in advance, a Good Faith Estimate will also be provided within the timeframes required by federal law.
Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected charges for the services that are reasonably anticipated at the time the estimate is prepared. Because psychotherapy is individualized, the frequency and duration of treatment may change over time based on your needs, preferences, progress, and clinical recommendations. A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive a particular number of sessions.
If Your Bill Is Higher Than Expected
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
Please keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
